Fareham Good Neighbours is a volunteer‑led, home‑visiting service for adults in Fareham who may be affected by age, illness, disability, or isolation. We match people with a friendly volunteer who visits regularly, offering company, conversation and gentle emotional support.
Our aim is simple: to help people feel less alone and more connected to their community.
We take great care to match every client with a volunteer in a way that feels natural, comfortable and enjoyable.
We ask you to fill in an application form so we can get to know you a little — your hobbies, interests, and the kind of work you’ve done in the past. This helps us find a match that feels natural and enjoyable for both you and the person you’ll visit.
We’ll also ask about your health or any disability that might need to be taken into account during visits, especially anything related to mobility, sight, hearing, speech, or memory. This isn’t to exclude anyone — it simply helps us make sure your visits are safe, comfortable, and well‑suited to you.
We check whether you have preferred times of day for visits, for example if you have carers who call, and we ask whether you live alone or have pets at home.
All of this helps us understand your situation so we can support you properly and make thoughtful, well‑matched introductions.
