Fareham Community Showcase
We had a great day on Saturday 4 July and were one of the 30+ Fareham Community groups. Well done to Community First for organising a good day for the groups and families of Fareham.
For those of you who visited our stall and spoke with me, David Rice, or Kin, please get in touch if you are still interested in becoming a Befriender Volunteer.

Become a Volunteer Befriender with Fareham Good Neighbours and Benefit by Contributing a Little Time to your Community or Gain the Experience you Need for your Next Role
As a Befriender with Fareham Good Neighbours, you will visit adults in their homes to offer company, kindness, and support, especially when they are affected by age, illness, or disability.
You don’t need special skills — just a caring nature and a willingness to listen. We welcome volunteers of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of confidence. If you enjoy chatting, connecting with people, and offering gentle support, you’ll fit right in.
Most visits are simply a warm chat over a cup of tea. You might talk about hobbies, memories, or everyday life. Sometimes you’ll be a listening ear; sometimes you’ll share a laugh. Every visit is different, but all are appreciated.
You’ll start by completing a simple application form and having a short, friendly interview. After that, you’ll receive our Volunteer Handbook, which explains the practical parts of the role in a clear and supportive way. We’ll also guide you through the policies you need to read and help you complete some basic safeguarding training.
If you think you might like to volunteer, or just want to talk it through, you can email us. We’re happy to chat.
