Fareham Community Showcase
Why not visit us on Saturday between 10-4pm on 4 July at the Bath Lane Recreation Ground in Fareham where we will have one of many Fareham Community Group stands.
The Showcase will sit within a wider programme of family-friendly attractions, entertainment, and food and drink stalls. Our exhibitors will be based inside a large marquee at the centre of the recreation ground.
The recreation area will also be the venue for other fun, family-friendly activities, musical entertainment and refreshments.
Become a Volunteer Befriender with Fareham Good Neighbours and Benefit by Contributing a Little Time to your Community or Gain the Experience you Need for your Next Role
As a Befriender with Fareham Good Neighbours, you will visit adults in their homes to offer company, kindness, and support, especially when they are affected by age, illness, or disability.
You don’t need special skills — just a caring nature and a willingness to listen. We welcome volunteers of all ages, backgrounds, and levels of confidence. If you enjoy chatting, connecting with people, and offering gentle support, you’ll fit right in.
Most visits are simply a warm chat over a cup of tea. You might talk about hobbies, memories, or everyday life. Sometimes you’ll be a listening ear; sometimes you’ll share a laugh. Every visit is different, but all are appreciated.
You’ll start by completing a simple application form and having a short, friendly interview. After that, you’ll receive our Volunteer Handbook, which explains the practical parts of the role in a clear and supportive way. We’ll also guide you through the policies you need to read and help you complete some basic safeguarding training.
If you think you might like to volunteer, or just want to talk it through, you can email us. We’re happy to chat.
